And, I definitely want to send my best wishes and my thanks to Michael! First, it's great to hear about the marriage! I would say that right now, you have bigger fish to fry than worrying about if OJar is up and running the way some people feel it needs to! Honestly, it helped us all but you have a life to live! Congratulations! Also, I'd like to say thank you. I think Kermie has done a fantastic job here filling the space for some of us who still like to linger around and keep in touch. He's provided something great. But, OJar came 1st for me. It was the place I found when I felt so totally lost and alone and well, it made me realize I wasn't alone! I heard a quote from a movie the other day, "Even if we're all alone, we're all in that together too, aren't we?" It made me think of how it was when I got to OJar. The site was amazing. It had it's ups and downs. But, frankly, I think it was foolish for anyone to think it would run forever! You did what you did and I owe you a huge thank you. You were an amazing help and a source of guidance. The site was a safe-place for me for a long time so I knew I had somewhere to go. But, the true sign of learning to swim on your own is knowing you can let go of that life preserver. Best wishes to you and thanks again!!

Michael - ditto to every positive thing everyone has said and you beat me to the "refunds were given" verification before I could. Congratulations and best wishes. I think you should do Oprah now PQ/Kermie - I think the first post I ever read on Ojar was yours! I remain grateful for the high quality friends and support I received there in my darkest hours as I too "desperately googled for help". I am thankful you took on Hugthat for the times I still feel the need for some support and a friendly typeface. The one feature I do miss is chat. Sometimes you just need a moment of support or clarification or a fellow survivor! Maybe we can find a way to chat somewhere if needed? Blu (aka Bluskygrl, Justblu)

Hi Everyone, I am a guest here so I don't intend to stir controversy, rather clarify a few things. 1. Refunds were given (even if you HEARD otherwise). 2. Everyone wanted "someone else" to moderate as they were too busy. 3. The site still helps by sharing information. After all it is an evergreen topic and "my story" is "your story" plus or minus some details. 4. I reply to PM's (although not always immediately). 5. Yes, I created a CD. LOL! I did it as a side project to help people that need it. 6. I ran OJar from Aug. 2001 to Dec. 2007. In my opinion I have little to add to that 'body' of work. What needed to be said, has been said. 7. PQ/Kerm. has done an excellent job of maintaining this site. Thank you PQ/Kerm. 8. I am getting married next year. Trivia: she helped me setup OJar back in 2001, helped moderate it at times and put up with the craziness of running OJar.com 9. My time these days is spent these days looking forward to the future and divorce is a distant memory these days. I don't let it define me. 10. I met amazing and special people running OJar (that includes the people on this site). I would rather focus now on new topics and if OJar were to restart again it would be on a different theme and with help. So far, all offers of help have been extremely limited and basically a shopping list of things for me to do. Doesn't sound fair, does it? (a rhetorical question) Take care, - Michael. I had logged onto ojar earlier this week to retrieve some of my old posts.....I was devastated to see it down. I took it for granted that it would always be there if I ever decided to log back on. I considered myself a veteran there. It saved me. Michael what you offered, you more than payed it forward and earned your wings. Thank you so much for all your toil and time spent maintaining it all those years. My question to you is this, can I get my old posts somehow? Crazy I know, who wants to relive the pain, but it is important to me.... Barelybreathing

Michael doesn't come here, really - unless directed... He does answer pms on ojar, though, if you want to send to him there? I am still missing it, myself.

I'm here to call Michael out. Michael, if you want out of Ojar, give it to someone else. Those old posts should be archived as well. You are dropping the ball, you lied to everyone that is presently here, and it's not cool. And you ignored my PMS. Do the right thing, PM me here or on Ojar, and back out gracefully with your legacy intact.

I am just posting this here because maybe he'll see it but I know several of us added ourselves to a list that was offered by Michael so that we could have our contact info sent out to anyone else on the list...I never got it. I've checked with a couple of other people who voulenteered their info as well so that we all could keep in touch who are also saying they've never gotten a contact list as well...
Is there anyone else like this out there?

Even though we had a rough time towards the final days of Ojar.com and he went so far as to ban me...we still throw an occasional email back and forth. Are you jealous?

wizer,
Could you pass that on to micheal, he will remember me and he can let me know what I can do. I can't reactivate my account over there, I tried. So I can't pm. He can send me a pm here.
I will understand if he can't help me out, but if he can, I would be so grateful.
From what I am slowly gathering and reading though, it sounds like he just shut the site down without any warning or much forethought?
Guess that is what I get for procrastinating...HA!

Actually he gave us a month or so warning that he was shutting the boards down for a month or so, but in real life he meant forever. He just didn't say so because he knew we would throw a massive fit.

I imagine those emails are more along the lines of the communications that Jefferson and Madison had, only not so polite or articulate!
