as they're signs that wounds have healed... I wish I could find a way to stop the feelings of despair and utter hopelessness that I now have.

That scars are there when wounds have healed. You have to take comfort in knowing that eventually, day by day it will get better. Maybe you feel like it couldn't get any worse, and maybe it couldn't. The only way to go is up from here, and things will get a little bit better each day. You will see. Until then, we are here.

Thank you...I'm so tired of trying to do it alone.

Thank you...I'm so tired of trying to do it alone. I tried to do it alone for so long and what I found was that trying to do it alone just made me feel more lonely. Whereas I have find myself being anti-social and wanting to stay home here lately, I have found a social outlet here on the boards. We are here to help.

I think that is a great way of thinking of it...that scars are wounds that have healed.
I had surgery last year and a huge scar...one day it had shrunk to the size of my pinkie...
I realized that I hadn't noticed that it was disappearing...all the while...I was healing emotionally and physically...
You're not alone...
