Then again, evidence shows that many Americans are pretty dumb... For further evidence that there should be an IQ test before you can vote: Frecks, This goes further to show that your lack of research and dependence on "Fox News" for your information is contributing to the demise of any credibility you may have ever held. Really, You are going to base your vote on the VP is a "Hottie"? You are going to listen to what the media says about democrats and republicans and base your vote on a newscaster's statements. It is funny that you claim that it is the "liberal democrats" that love wind and solar but cut tax breaks. I have read several articles where it is the Republicans and "Conservative Democrats" that are hurting the tax breaks for wind and solar development. From an Associated Press Article AP Wind, solar energy built on temporary tax breaks Sunday August 31, 9:52 am ET By Jim Abrams, Associated Press Writer Wind, solar industries immediate future hinges on lawmakers' extending tax breaks "In addition to breaks for renewable energy and energy conservation, several dozen other tax breaks are targeted to businesses and individuals. They include people paying state and local sales taxes; parents with higher education tuition costs; and teachers with out-of-pocket expenses. Almost all the provisions are popular. But Senate Republicans have blocked consideration of tax-extender plans by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont. GOP lawmakers are protesting efforts to offset the costs with other taxes or other items attached to the proposals. In the House, conservative Democrats promise to block any extension that adds to the deficit."

Being a former Alaskan and understanding how deep and corrupt the old boys network runs there, my first reaction to this nomination was......desperation! McCain is on the run and beleive he had to do something completely out there to try to win. Huh??? HOw is he on the run? The polls have them almost even? Or is that just a fact that we can ignore and just say that since he is behind 2 pts, then he is "on the run?". Don't make these statements just because you WISH them to be true? Do I want McCain? Not really. I would like OBAMA to have a shot at it - it would diffently be better than what is in the white house now. On the other side, I do think Obama would do a better job at fixing the way we are perceived by the world - not sure if that is fixable but maybe he could improve it somewhat. GWB has damaged that possibly beyond repair. I guess I just was astounded by the "on the run comment".

Now you are Confusing me ? Whats confusing? I am merely pointing out that you claim that it is the liberal democrats that are cutting tax breaks for alternate energy, while there is much evidence that it is actually the republicans and conservatives that are cutting those tax breaks. Perhaps the use of media sources besides "Fox News" is confusing to you....

The comment, as posted under the "Soapbox a Place for Opinions", was my take on this bizarre move by the McCain campaign. Had I meant it to be factual I would have appropriately provided references in proper APA format with Fox news briefs linked following. I, speaking only for myself, believe this to be a rather desperate act to "do something" after Obama garnered record breaking numbers at the DNC the night before. It is his own camp that has admitted his first, second and third choices were not amenable to his cause. That said I am never upset when an intelligent, well spoken, motivated, educated female and working mother throws her hat into the political ring, nor have I decided who I am voting for in this election!
