yeah really. and actually they just reopened our nice shiny new sonic last night - for whatever reason, their idea of "remodelling" was to bulldoze the old one and start over........ we're going to try to go out tomorrow to one of the shops that i have some of my stuff in - it was supposed to open this week so i'd like to check it out, and that's about an hour's drive each way. i just feel like i'm crawling out of my skin RIGHT NOW and if i don't get out i'm going to go nuttier than i already am. i did at least figure out a way to sit and cut squares for a couple of blankets that i'm making, so at least i'm doing something productive.......

they are out! i am officially staple-free, which means that as soon as my husband gets home from work, whether he knows it or not, he's helping me upstairs and into the shower. i haven't had one in over 2 weeks now and I WANT ONE NOW.
the p.t. also brought me a lift for my shoe, so i'm not *quite* as crooked as i was.....

well, it's officially been 4 weeks. went in for my follow up today and got copies of the xrays that they took this morning - way cool! i have officially been released from wearing the TED hose so now i can take a shower whenever i want to, not just when my husband's home and can help get them on and off.
everything looks good at this point. i have to start the process of either getting a lift built for inside my shoe or getting a new pair of shoes and getting them built up to compensate for the difference in the lengths of my legs - probably should do that before the end of the year so that insurance will cover it....hmmmm......
oh yeah, the bill came to a whopping $57,760.44, of which $14,897.00 was the actual hip itself (the implant)! thanks to insurance, we only have to pay $191.45.
onward and upward!

goods - tell your friend good luck for me! and to be forewarned - the first 48 hours SUCK!!!! after that, it gets way better.
yesterday was kind of rough. we went to the mall, where i did not intend to walk much, but my husband took the stroller and the kids and went walking while i was looking for fabric, and then i realized that my wallet and my coupon were in the stroller. so i had to trek through the mall to find them (at the other end, of course) and then walk back to my original store. by the time we got home i was tired and sore beyond belief. i'm horribly stiff and achy today, but that'll get better as time goes on.
i still need to call and get rid of the hospital bed....and see if i can find a local place to do the lift for my shoe. i don't feel like going to wichita for that. blah.

He just called me 15 minutes ago to make sure I take care of his dogs tonight. He sounded good, of course he may be under the influence of a few things. Are you looking for volunteers?

i remember NOTHING of the rest of the day after surgery, other than my husband shoving some orange sherbet into my mouth......apparently i talked to a few people on the phone but i have no clue. i was so miserable and so out of it that i just didn't care if i lived or died right then. hopefully he'll have an easier time of it than i did, but it sounds like he's on the right track! just out of curiosity, how old is he? Are you looking for volunteers? oh trust me, you do NOT want to go there....i believe that the last time i shaved them was november 24 - the day before surgery! i'm about to just figure out a way to do it, even if it means that my left ankle is still hairy because i just can't reach down that far on my left side yet. and no, i don't trust my husband to do it for me....lol

He is 46, and home today. I'll have to see how he is doing tonight. Sounds like you should get a gallon of Nair and use a paint brush to apply it!
