One place didn't serve us bc we were white. That I totally disagree with. That's disgusting. And completely freaking out of order. It makes so mad to see that. What the hell does skin colour have to do with anything these days? I really hope that as a world we are coming further along than that. I think mixed relationships are wonderful and think they can give each party a wonderful insight into another culture, etc.

The manager wasn't there....it was in the deep south...bunch of teens acting stupid. Hopefully they grew up since then...maturity wise, too. It has been 5 years or so since then.

If you marry someone of a diffrent race You marry thier FAMILY too One of my Sisters married a Mexican At a Birthday party with 50 people and you and 1 or 2 others are the only white's there Is not a good feeling even if they are nice You leave after about 10 minutes or so Freck, that is really sad that you feel that way....people are the same inside you know. The color of a person's skin is just the color on the surface....other than that, people are just the same. Why would you feel you have to leave a birthday party because you aren't the same skin color as most of the people there? That makes me very sad Where I work I am often the only white person, or one of two or three....it doesn't make a difference to me, and I like to think that people can see beyond it....it seems like they do. I used to work in an environment where I was a token female and that was noticeably more difficult to deal with on a day-to-day basis and was a big reason why I left that field. When you carry these kinds of discriminations with you Freckles, it hurts your heart. People are people.

Frecks, is it that they are not white that bothers you at the party or is it bc they are all speaking Spanish and you dont' know Spanish?
If it is the language barrier, then could you possibly try to learn some Spanish. If being white is the minority in your area it would be a good choice to at least learn some basics.

Having more than one language is always pretty desirable as well...especially in terms of the job sector..!

I have to admit I have mixed feelings on this one.
For the record, my husband is Native and I am Caucasian. It seems to run in the family to marry Native men. My sister's husband is 1/2 Native, too.
I guess we are all attracted to certain types of people, whether it be size, colour or personality. I have always been attracted to darker men, especially Native men. There's nothing necessarily racist about being attracted to certain people or looks.
I really don't think it should matter, though, if you are the only white person somewhere.
What difference does it make if you were the only white person there? I think what should be more important is if you share values, not skin colour.
