When you think about what is most motivating to you (i.e.: gives you passion, energy for the work you do), what comes to mind?

Right now? Three things come to mind.
1) My kids
2) A certain red-headed Scorpio
3) My job (first one in my life that I've actually loved)...

I'm making MUCH more money than I've ever made in my life. I'm appreciated by my boss for what I do. I genuinely LIKE what I do. I feel like I'm moving forward here instead of just marking time.

right now my motivation is that we only have a limited time on this earth, and i need to find out why am here and what i am meant to contribute to the world. i don't want to waste any more time. but first i need to figure out who i am and what i have to offer. it's a process that is both exciting and terrifying.

Deadlines. Self-created, or better yet - other-imposed. If I don't have a deadline, I don't do it.

1. I feel like a make at least a small difference at my job everyday....which is more important to me than making a big difference and doing something really earth-shattering just once in a career. I need to see little things daily (or at least frequently) to feel reinforced.
2. I make okay money...not great, but not terrible either and I have a union and job security/working conditions mandated by my union.
3. My boss treats me like a professional and stays out of my way and lets me do what I need to do, without alot of interference....She's supportive, but for the most part, stands back. She's also hilarious, which I think helps.
4. I have creative freedom to do what I feel like doing within the limits of safety and a curriculum....as long as the students are passing the govt exams in the end, the delivery choices are mine.
It has taken me many years, and many jobs in several different fields.... and several major career changes to reach this place where I am this happy....it hasn't been easy or cheap for me to re-train and start over. But it has so been worth it.
