So, K came up this weekend as planned. I helped him babysit during the day Saturday and then we had my class reunion Saturday night. He was amazing (and to you perverts, not like that! lol). I don't recall ever really being around a guy like him very much. I had to laugh because he even went so far as to bring a couple dress shirts so he could make sure he wore what looked best with what I wore. Now, mind you, this was supposed to be a date but very much something we were walking into as friends. But, he was the most amazing guy there. I could understand how it could have been boring or uncomfortable not knowing anyone there really but the 2 people we came with. He was great. He didn't hover or smother but made sure he was around if I needed. He was sweet and charming and supportive. He kind of escorted me around with my hand through the crook in his arm when he could tell I was uncomfortable, anxious or nervous. He was great. One of the funniest parts of the night was when I left him alone with my friends and a woman I went to school was talking to the 3 of them. After figuring out the married two were married, she turned to K and goes, "So...Then...You own Amy?" I guess he goes, "Yeah...Um, No! I mean, yeah. No." and turned red. He finally settled that nobody owned me but yes he claimed me. lol He was a very good sport.
We'd gone from my reunion dinner to the tavern right by that had been reserved for us as well. From there we went dancing with him and I, my best friends (the married couple who the husband is K's brother), and 2 other friends of mine from high school. Somewhere, it became blatantly apparent that there really has been a long-standing crush between the two of us. We both had way too much to drink and at some point in that, we kissed. It happened a few more times through the night. I totally remember it but it was a little fuzzy to him. He asked the next day if we really had (which was pretty uncomfortable). But, he leaned over, put his hand on my cheek, and just gave one of those soft, sweet kisses and said he wanted to make sure he could do it when it would be remembered. I melted aside from my original annoyance. And, through the day, he kissed me a couple more times the same way and said he was making sure he had those memories to take home with him until next time.
We spent Sunday together. He left about 8:45 Sunday night. We texted most of the day yesterday and he called twice. We started texting this morning. I can't get him off my mind. I forgot all about things like this because I'd stayed so cautious and guarded for so long. Trying to not feel like a little girl with her first crush but having so much fun enjoying the beginning stages of whatever this may be.
