Due to the recent debate I thought this was of interest...
Yesterday, 7/16/08, my father received a letter from the FEMA stating that it is still in the quote investigative stages unquote of my grandfather's home that flooded twelve years ago.
Now, my father found it very frustrating and really did not believe that he would ever see one penny of the money that was promised twelve years ago.
We did, clean up the house, recarpet the house, repaint the house, and make sure it was structurally sound before selling the house...um, eleven years ago.
There have been a lot of articles in my local paper regarding FEMA lately...most recently, all of the money promised to those in need due to the heavy flooding have now been told that it will be at the earliest 18 months before they will see a dime.
Just thought it might be of interest and provided an interesting topic of conversation over dinner out last night.

Yes, one thing about me is that I believe in honesty and I could not make this up if I wanted to.

Wow, well hopefully the people aren't believing they are getting money anytime within their lifetime to help with all the flooding.
Hopefully they won't give them the trailers like they used in the south. Did you hear about all the handicapped children from the gases and stuff from that?
