He looks like a Leader and makes a good speech
But, everything he stands for is Bad
Pure Bad
He Hates White People
He Hates all Forms of Energy
He says he likes Solar and Wind , Yet at every opportunity His Party(Democrats) Cut Tax Breaks for Solar and Wind and Halt Solar and Wind Projects
He hates our Military - Our Military is all that stands between the People of the USA and our Enemies who want to make our Women Slaves and Murder everyone here in the USA (It does not matter what anyone thinks about why they want to do that, they just want to because they were born)
He wants to Raise Taxes on everyone
He wants to Kill all our Trade Deals
He is someone who know nothing about Foreign Policy or Trade or how the Average USA Citizen feels
He is like Al Gore who talks about saving energy and yet his House uses as much Power as most small cities
And He have several Jets and Big Cars(Gas Hogs)
Obama is Do as I say
Not as I do
I think if Obama wins we will have no gas at ANY Price
Millions of USA Citizens will Freeze to death or have heat Stroke and Die because of no power
Everyone will have to pay $1.00 in Tax for every $1.00 in Income
Foren Armies will be on USA Soil Raping Women and Killing everybody and destroying everything
While our Solders are not allowed to have bullets
If you notice in Cuba Fedal Castro Endorces Obama also Iran Likes Him and
Most of all FRANCE Cheers Obama
That says all you need to know right there
FRANCE Loves and Cheers Obama
because France Hates the USA
They used to love us when we Freed them from the Nazis
they have forgotten that
Now France hates us
But
They LOVE Obama !
I will be glad when I can early Vote
I will Vote for McCain

I am flabbergasted. I can listen to just about anyone's points about either candidate, when they are well thought out and have some basis on data or perhaps even citations to actual sources. But when all you have is a bunch of wild claims with no data to back them up, then all you have is a bunch of ramblings. If Obama hates the military, Why is he proposing an increase in troops? Why has he continually supported pay increases for troops while the Bush administration has "Strongly opposed" the 3.9% increase for troops? Did you hear that, Freckles? Your so called great president, GW-Bush, has OPPOSED pay increases for the military for a couple years now. And I will tell you from first hand experience, the 3.9 percent increase that was requested (AND SUPPORTED by Obama and the Democrats) is not that big of an increase. Please note that most military families live at or just above the national poverty line. So, in your other post about the poor being FAT because the US Government gives them things like foodstamps, you are including MANY MANY military families. While I was in, many of my friends and their families were on food stamps and I promise you, they were NOT fat or living well. So when you talk about how Obama hates the military, keep in mind, that he has supported the military and veterans thru his votes BETTER than the current administration. In the words of the President: "The Administration strongly opposes sections 601 and 608 of the bill. The additional 0.5 percent increase in 2009 above the President’s proposed 3.4 percent across-theboard pay increase is unnecessary, as are increased pay raises in the outyears." www.whitehouse.gov/omb/legislative/sap/110-2/saphr5658-h.pdfPlease do not use the military as an example of how Obama sucks and in the same breath talk about how great Bush is. Bush feels that a 10 dollars per month increase is too much to pay his troops while he spends BILLIONS in Iraq fighting a cause that he refuses to acknowledge was a mistake.

Would it be anti-democratic to require voters to take an IQ test?
(Semi-serious question, actually. Voting is compulsory in Australia. I've mentioned before that I'm glad it's not compulsory here because I wouldn't necessarily want ignorant Americans voting because they had no choice but to do so.)

I don't think the country club folks will welcome me back with open arms, RO. Especially after I essentially called them materialistic and selfish (just stalker-boy.) That's what happens when you give me vodka and put me in that situation! ;D

I don't think you get any less ignorant voters with the present system. "getting out the vote" only engages the ignorant as it is. I second the IQ test and raise you an essay explaining your voting choice.

I second the IQ test and raise you an essay explaining your voting choice. Only if you agree to grade it. I trust your political judgement.

In Africa they are Skin and Bones and dying I see it on TV all the time You take the word mistake at too literal of a meaning. I am not saying we woke up one day with our troops in the wrong place. It was a mistake to send troops there in the first place. It was a mistake to start a war with Iraq with NO proof of WMDs It was a mistake to divert troops from the real threat in Afganistan It was a mistake to listen to GW Bush's ramblings on the threat of Iraqi WMDs. Yes the government intended to send troops to Iraq, but that was a mistake. BTW: What do the people in Africa starving have anything to do with This discussion? Other than to say possibly that our troops might be better utilized assisting that region than fighting a war that was a mistake to start in the first place? Oh, perhaps you are saying that its Obama's fault that they are starving. I dont get it.

I am definitely anti-Bush, but I will say, a President is only as good as his advisors. They are just too dang busy to do all the research, and there is just too much to know, to be able to do it all themselves. They trust their advisors and make the best decisions they can off of that info. Bush was misled, and then took off with it. It was his ramblings, but his ramblings were based off info he was told and unfortunately believed. My bigger problem was that he DIDN'T listen to the advisors that said "have the backing of the world before you move on it".

Agreed Sheyd.
One other point to consider is that Bush also surrounded himself with advisors that supported his views and pushed out advisors that he did not agree with. What ever happened to Colin Powell....The one military leader / advisor that suggested more diplomatic action instead of military force. It happened to a number of advisors, military and civilian, that did not support going to war.
So while it could be argued that a president is only as good as his advisors....It is the advisors that they appointed.
He should have recognized the bad advice and fired his staff instead of continuing to deny the mistake or even act like he never made claims. If I remember an interview correctly, it was Bush or Cheney or Rumsfeld being asked about the WMD claims and they said, "I never said that", then the video was played, and they responded with "Well, you misunderstood what I said".
