I just found out another manager just got married this past weekend. She was so upset when she got divorced, at least a year after me, so no more really than than a year ago? I was suprised to learn she was living with someone in February....but married??? Has the world gone mad?

I was surprised to learn she was living with someone in February....but married??? Has the world gone mad? I know everyone is on their own time-line, but it took me longer than a year to trust or invest. Did she know this person before? I can't imagine really knowing someone enough to marry them that quickly. Of course, some work out and stay married for decades. Take your time. Take some self validation for taking your time not to jump into the next relationship - particularly marriage so quickly.

We can't say why people do what they do. Hopefully, she learned something on the first go-round and this will be a happy marriage for them both.

I think there are a variety of reasons that people jump quickly into another relationship after the previous one ended. I also think there is no formula for an ideal outcome (if so, the divorce rate would be a lot lower!) After a year, I won't even consider having someone spend the night in my home, so a part of me sort of admires the type of carefree, trusting spirit who is capable of giving marriage another go so quickly.
