Okay, so this weekend I got to do something out of my norm and I met someone a lot of you will know!
Steve has come to the states and is enjoying a really nice cross-country trip meeting a few people along the way (a couple from here even). I am usually just not one for meeting people from on-line...The few times I have, it usually ends up creepy and bad so I don't. But, when I heard he was passing through, I couldn't pass it up. I am so glad I didn't! It was SO much fun!
We met up Friday afternoon and it had already been raining a whole day here. I really hoped it would let up so he could take int he "proper" Colorado horizon but no such luck. lol Just the same, we decided we'd make the most of it. We went and got tea in Fort Collins (as he'd been getting homesick for the real thing) and then took a drive to Estes Park. It's a beautiful and charming mountain town. He saw elk for the 1st time (as he hadn't known what they even were). i35.tinypic.com/sdhiq9.jpg He saw the hotel that inspired "The Shining" by Steven King. i35.tinypic.com/30a9lpk.jpg The clouds hung on the mountain tops and it made for some pretty dramatic scenery. We came back down to my family's house and had dinner with all of them and it was so much fun. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. My family adored him.
I was lucky enough to get to see him Saturday before he left too. We stopped and had some breakfast and just laughed a lot. My 6-year-old wasn't sure what to think of his accent. He kept telling me that Steve sounded like the people from "Harry Potter" and to him, that was a really big deal! lol
We got a couple pictures...It was a lot of fun. As even he said, we've seen pictures of each other but to have a couple together is kind of surreal. It's great!!

So, all in all, great experience! It was so much fun and wonderful to meet him! Just thought I'd share!!
