Well, I survived round two with the parents! LMAO
Honestly, I don't know why it's such a big deal...Parents have never been an issue in the past. But after last time, I was kind of on pins and needles this time when I found out it was coming.
T and I were at J's house Sunday and he informed me his folks would be coming over for the Bronco game. I told him I planned on being gone by then and he seemed genuinely disappointed. I really didn't want to go but wasn't wanting to really be there. After telling me he'd already told them I would be there and they were bringing lunch, I decided to tough it out. I am glad I did. Things with his dad were interesting...It was more of the same from the weekend before. He asked a lot of pretty evasive questions. I answered most of them as a) I am a pretty open book kind of person, and b) I didn't want them to feel like I was trying to hide something. It was a much more laid back atmosphere so it didn't bother me quite as much. And any question that was too much, I just diverted the conversation very tactfully. This time however, more of my true personality came out. I think his parents actually appreciated it a little. His dad was actually amused at my being a bit of a smart-ass. And, I was proud I didn't drop the ball when his dad put me on the spot. At some point he started making comments about if I was sure I wasn't rich because he thinks his son needs a rich woman to take care of him. I responded by, "Oh please forgive me, I scrubbed the 'Sugar Mamma' stamp off my forehead quite some time ago." His eyes got the size of silver dollars and his jaw fell open a little but hey, he deserved it! lol All in all, it went much better this time.
Oh, and to add to it, I met his grandma too...The one who when she found out about me in the very beginning (and me having two kids), looked at him and said, "Wear a condom!" Oh, what a family...
