Is it possible that a dosage and drug that seemed to work initially just stops working after a couple of months? I know that often people try a variety of things before finding something that works. But I thought that once the appropriate drug/dosage/combo was decided upon and working the experimental/trial phase would be over. And, yeah, I think mine has stopped working. But I don't know if it is worth bothering to try something else and risk side effects, etc. or just suck it up and deal.

Yes that happens all the time. There are some new meds out that have fewer side affects so it is worth trying to find one. I'm doing that dance at the moment myself. The current med I have been on stopped working and the new one has made me very tired.
The benefit with them is far better for me than without them so I will keep trying to find one that works as well as lexapro did.
Good luck.

If the drug isn't working, what's the point of staying on it?

Explain your symptoms and what has been going on. Be upfront and honest. It takes awhile to find the right medication... Hang in there. Positive thoughts and hugs sent to you.

maybe a simple increase in dosage will help. when i was on prozac, 20 mg worked for about two months and then i crashed - doc upped me to 40mg a day and i was golden for over a year.

True...didn't think of that erf...that is what worked for me, too. I am allergic to a lot of drugs so for me it was hard to find the right fit...it does make a HUGE difference.

That would be awesome. I'll talk to my doc. I'm taking Welbutrin. Which I love. The only side effect is an increased libido. Which wouldn't actually be a problem at all if it weren't for the whole single thing...

Welbutrin is ok up to 300 mg. You can get a dosage of up to 450 mg, but there are reports of seizures.

Damn. Already at 300 mg. erf, 32 days? Seriously? Amateur! You have no idea... I would seriously consider another med in addition to the Welbutrin rather than increasing over 300mg, although I know people who do ok on the 450mg. I was once on a mix of Welbutrin and zoloft. Welbutrin increased my anxiety and the Zoloft offset that. It was a good mix and got me through a tough time.
