We can't give alec a bath more than every other day bc of his allergies. Because baths are not part of our EVERY day schedule it upsets Kyle's day when we bathe him. Once he is there all is good, but getting him there takes a lot of crying. Any tips on teaching him how to blow his nose? Does your son have the never ending sniffies, too? My nephew is autistic and has that problem. Blowing the nose (when we can convince him to touch a tissue) doesn't solve it.

The way I got my kids to blow was to make it a game. Make them push their lips together really hard, then try to make elephant noises out their "trunk". I try this when they aren't snotty, put a kleenex beneath their nose without touching, and they "win" if they can make the noise and make the kleenex move. The more they can make it move, the better (with a treat if they do can make it HUGE). Then we try the same thing, with the tissue touching. At first they learn to do it with snot on their faces, the catching it part is harder, but it is still easier to clean it up on the outside of the face than from up a nose!

I will give that a try. I will have to wait until he is feeling better. He is crying now with the shivers. The FLU has hit.

Poor baby - that is so hard when kids are sick! Will he let you use a saline nasal spray? That can really help dry it out - but my kids never tolerated it once they were able to push my hand away...

I am bigger and stronger than all three of my boys. But I am stuck at work without any spray until 430.

That is even WORSE than just having sick ones... Do you get the pathetic call to show you what you are missing? I hate being stuck away!

They are stuck here at work with me. He is in his sleeping bag with his stuffed animal and a little pillow.

I'm sure he would rather be with you than home without you... Can someone else run to the store for you?
