So, I just checked my banking and it looks like my taxes are pending going in at end of business today! YAY! Now that they are here, I can get my new phone and I can work on getting moved. I finally talked to my folks last night and the answer I got was, "When you move, where does that leave us on the back-rent you owe?" Ugh. I can't wait to just get back to being me and not feeling like Amy-rella any longer. YAY YAY YAY Taxes are here and I couldn't be more thrilled.

That is AWESOME! I am so happy for you! Don't worry about their reaction, they just realize they have to do all the work again! Have you been looking at places? How soon can you move? What about the surgery? Shey

Well, I've been looking at places. Where I'd really like to go has a waiting list. And, while that in itself sucks, it really is the most logical option for price and space. But, we'll see. I am just figuring if I don't go for that place, I will move before surgery and get it out of the way. I may just have to ask my brother to come stay for a few days or I'll have to go home for a few days. I guess I'd probably rather move sooner instead of later but it's all just figuring out details now. Surger is going to be a couple months out so it's so hard to say how that will play into things.

How long is the waiting list? Are you already on it? I agree, if surgery is that far out it is better to move now and deal with that later - you can always do a "temporary" move back if you really need it, while keeping all your stuff at your OWN place!
Sometimes if you call the place with the waiting list and tell them you have cash NOW, you get moved up a bit... Worth trying?

The wait list is 2-3 months. However, it can be much shorter. As you are on the list and have openings, they start calling down the list. If they don't hear back from someone, the go to the next. These are income based apartments so realistically, it may be better in the long run as far as affordablility as well as space. I am going in tomorrow to talk to them, view a place and try and get my rental application turned in.
