a lot of snow in the past month and it's been so cold that there has been no melting. Those of you who haven't experienced a real snowbelt winter cannot understand what it is like to run out of place to put snow, but that's where we are. My driveway isn't that long but it had been getting pretty narrow since I scoop my drive and don't have a snowblower.
Anyway, I had to blast out of the garage and through the twenty inch pile the plow had deposited at the end of the driveway on my way to work yesterday, so i knew i was going to have to shovel when i got home. However, when i got home someone had widened my driveway and plowed it. I have no idea who did it. None of the neighbors' snowbanks look any different and I can't think of anyone who might be responsible.

I have no idea who did it. Your welcome, citizen. The pleasure is all mine, I assure you.

That is so nice. (Er, the gesture that is... lumpy's depiction of it is just disturbing.) Pay it forward!

That is really awesome!!
Someone mowed our field for us and we didn't know who did it for months and months.

I spent 6-7 months living in Michigan. I would get up at 7 (I didn't work at the time, but I got up to help for my in-laws I lived with) and shovel the long ass driveway ( I was pregnant the whole time I lived there) and I dont' ever want to do that ever again.
Shoveling doesn't happen here. If it snows everything closes and we stay home.

My friend who was watching my dog while I was away also shoveled my walkway and stairs! (I was worried about the 11 inches we got in one snowfall when I was away, but decided there was nothing I could do while I was in another hemisphere!) He never mentioned it. He also not only took good care of my dog (who was a little wild animal at one point -- probably pissed that I was away for so long) but cleaned up the house too. I owe him big time. I just can't even think of how I could begin to repay him.

Should I have specified platonic friend? Appropriate suggestions are welcome... (I was thinking of taking him out to dinner, some crappy souveniers from ANZ -- he collects keychains, the tackier the better, and I've been bringing him home keychains from various countries for years, so that part doesn't really count -- and an AMEX gift card or a gift card from Best Buy.)

I used to take care of friends dogs for them (when I was a military wife) and they would usually give me a gas card to cover the gas it took me to take care of the pet/pets and a gift card to olive garden or someplace like it.

That's cool Fre. I guess I missed one of the biggest winters on record back on Oregon. I talked to my old neighbor the other day, the snow level was too my roofline.
There was so much snow at one point that they opened the lake up for dumping snow because there was no other place to put it. I'm not sure if I am happy or sad I missed it. I've never seen that much snow before.
