its not a raise, BUT its a start... they also informed me that they're hiring extra help (file Clerk) so that I could work on "new" tasks and actually gain some new experience... It's wonderful, because i really like this firm.. and i would hate to leave... i need to celebrate!

i ask for a mere 2.00 raise, instead they want to hire another person. i feel like i just got burned.
time to reason with my boss.
on the up side, i got this job offer of $28-32 PART TIME job in the SAME AREA...
i'm gonna jump on it..

my suggestion: do some research on what your position pays on average in your area so you can go in with some solid evidence. and ask for 10% - 15% MORE than what you really think you want/deserve. that's what i did when i renegotiated my salary. i ended up getting exactly what i'd wanted.
