Something wonderful DID happen last night!
Harry and I actually dressed up (and for those of you who know me well, you know this is unusual for me) - I did the whole make-up thing and everything! He took me to a lovely restaurant in town (Blackwoods, for anyone who has been up this way) where I had prime rib. He was sweet, and charming, and HOT.
Then we went to a play, Stones in His Pockets, where two guys played every character in a play where neither really left the stage. It was actually VERY VERY good, and a I saw a few people from my old theater days. He made all the reservations himself, even picked up the tickets while I got wait in the warm van. He often opened doors for me, and was generally just wonderful.
After the play I kinda wanted a glass of wine (also unusual for me) so Harry went and bought us two bottles in case I didn't like the first kind. Then we went to the grocery store, and he bought strawberries (to go with the whipped chocolate frosting left in the fridge from Easter) and doughnuts for morning. We went home and watched Anna and the King (Jodie Foster version, I had never seen it).
The second glass of wine just about wiped me out, but he made sure I went to bed with a HUGE smile on my face! LOVELY date night!
April 8th is the day we consider "our Anniversary" - that was the day he moved here from Texas. On that day we will be at a Celtic Women concert with my mom and sister - a lovely anniversary, but not exactly romantic. This, to me, was a lovely way to celebrate our 2 years together. Smiling today!
