This is nothing compared to divorce, break ups, a child with an ailment, a death, but I have my final appt for an IME before we can begin to settle on my accident last year and could use some positive energy sent my way.
I've been through this before and they say June which means December if we're lucky. Not to mention there was a change in paralegals that will only take more time.
I don't know what to expect since last time I had a functional capacity test that took 8 hrs. This is supposed to last only 2 hrs. At this point, I just want to pay my new car off. My attorney thinks I have a good case, but I just want it over with at this point. They already call me the 'Bionic Woman' at work.
Just one pain free day, with a full memory and no crap from my ex that thinks his wife is the only one to ever have a baby, but manages to insult me by saying if I'd died this time, it would have made their lives easier.
The only reason they give money to people that have been in severe accidents is because there is NOTHING else that can make it go away. At least w/ a little money, the bills get paid and you can take a day or two off here and there with the pain. Whooptydoo!! It's just not worth it.
As they were cutting the roof of my car off, they were saying 'hold her tight' so they didn't get me. Of course, I was already with multiple spinal cord injuries I was conscious enough to tell them about. The thing that sucks is, my medical bills are not as high as they could be (which is much of what they base the settlement on) because I was only in surgery and the hospital for about 6 days. I hope they count the 8 wks I spent in a hospital bed in my family room, using a wheel chair to go to the bathroom and then another 7 wks on a walker because I could not use crutches because I broke my hand too.
Just frazzled and frankly not looking forward to the long drive to the Dr's office.
