Can anyone hep me. I am trying to register on a forum and all I get is a screen which says "come back when you can use your real IP address".

This is the case for both work and home computer. I don't know what that means. I haven't done anything to my IP address or security or anything.

Uness the stupid crappy thing doesn't recognise Abu Dhabi IP addresses.

Any suggestions guys?

If not, the forum may not like the fact that you are running DHCP

Sorry I'm a total imbecile when it comes to computers. I don't really even know what an IP is, let alone whether it is standing still or moving around! Thanks for trying tho!

basically it means, do you have the same ip when you log into your computer every time, or do you get a new ip address every time. I kind of sounds to me like either one, the forum does not like the ip addresses used there, or two they do not accept ip addresses that change every time you log into a computer.

Hmmmm. I have DHCP at home and registered with no problem. Not sure if that's it...

Geez. I wish I would have seen this thread sooner. You wouldn't happen to be the person with ip address starting in 24.18.x.x? If so, you can get in now. If not, go to www.whatismyipaddress.com record the IP address you see on the screen and PM it to me or one to the folks you know is on www.daoutksirtz.com already and I'll get you in.

I had to write some custom php code to examine all new registrants for proxy servers and deny access when a proxy server was in use.

Only a troll can properly defeat other trolls.
