I like my tax breaks as well as the next individual, (woo-hoo- good return this year!) but what the stupid no child left behind and budget cuts are doing to my kids just doesn't make it worth it... and don't even start on the deficit.
But not sure what all that has to do with limited gas/oil resources?

ROFLMAO!! Okay you asked for it Taxes under Clinton 1999 Single making 30K - tax $8,400 Single making 50K - tax $14,000 Single making 75K - tax $23,250 Married making 60K - tax $16,800 Married making 75K - tax $21,000 Married making 125K - tax $38,750 Taxes under Bush 2008 Single making 30K - tax $4,500 Single making 50K - tax $12,500 Single making 75K - tax $18,750 Married making 60K- tax $9,000 Married making 75K - tax $18,750 Married making 125K - tax $31,250 If you want to know just how effective the mainstream media is, it is amazing how many people that fall into the categories above think Bush is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever. If any democrat is elected, ALL of them say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people that fall into the categories above can't wait for it to happen. This is like the movie The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of some money and they don't even know what happened. Hee hee hee *dons asbestos armor*

In England, if you make under £40,000 a year, you get taxed at 22%. If you make over £40,000 its 40% tax. The US is really not that bad.

Actually I disagree with that action Freck. They claim it is economic stimulus action, but honestly how much of that money is staying here and how much will purchase things that aren't made in the U.S.? Not to mention where the heck is the money coming from? Well we are just adding more debt for our grandchildren to be responsible for. Not that I wont take mine and use it

Ok - is it just me that realizes that the fact that there are less taxes means less services (like money to schools - more to my heart) more social services cuts (when 1 in 4 people will be in poverty at least once over the course of 12 years) and that less money in to the gov't means more deficit as spending is continued for things like waging wars. Oh - and to topic - less money is available for things like research into renewable resources - since this and previous Republican gov'ts have been HELL on environmental programs.

The Government does not know how to Spend our Taxes In my Town when I was a fencing Contractor they had a fence that I started to bid on around a water tower Insted of saying so many feet of this kind of fence etc etc It looked like they hired a Professional Architect and paid about $10,000 to do a Drawing of the fence to the millimeter And a Stack of Forms about it a Foot high On something you could write out on a napkin, would have been all the info I needed I passed on the Bid And I told them why and laughed at them on the way out the door And I told everyone in Town about it , that I saw

Oh like any politician really spends that money wisely. More often than not it is wasted!!!!
Ask Billary about the woodstock museum. Wouldn't that money have done more good somewhere else?

Ask The Shrub or Darth Cheney about the billions wasted on no-bid contracts in Iraq and New Orleans. Wouldn't that money have done more good somewhere else? Hmmmmmmmm?
