I was trying to start some comments because there have not been a lot of them Because people don't like to look the abyss in the face. Give it a few months, Freck. When gas is closer to $4.50/gallon, people will be talking about it...

The real truth is, someday there WILL be no gas. It is a finite quantity. There are already oil fields completely depleted. Yes, there is probably enough for our lifetime, but will there be enough for our grandkids? Not at the rate we are going through it. So what are the alternatives, and when will they become cost-efficient? When it is too late, and REALLY expensive to switch over? It is worth thinking of. Oh-- and the funny thing is, they are talking about mass transit systems, and they are more energy efficient... of course because they use coal. Did we mention coal is finite too? lol!

I think when the Gas/Diesel Pumps shut off , it will be *Instant* Cave Man Days
People will be Killing Each Other over Food
Then they will start Eating Each Other
And Gangs/Tribes will Form
They will be diffrent kinds of Tribes
Some will be eating the People they Catch and makeing some of them Slaves-until they eat them.
Some will be like they use to be in England. They will control areas around a Castle type place.
Some will do like the Indians
But, in any case most People will Starve to death
The only thing to eat will be Pets or each other
I think if that Happens a good gun to have is the Thompson Machine Gun
It was on the History Channel
It is Light and will Cut through a Gang of Human eating Guels pretty good

When we run out of oil, we'll do something else. Necessity is the mother of invention.
Although, teaching my kids how to garden might be prudent at this point.
