I like Starbucks but sometimes it makes me a little mad. Example, I paid £1.55 for a green tea. That's almost 3dollars for ONE teabag and some water?! Also, Frappuccino's are very expensive. So in boycotting them, I found a Recipe that works pretty darn well:
* 3/4 cup double-strength coffee, cold * 3 tablespoons granulated sugar * 1 cup low-fat milk * 2 cups ice
1. Make double-strength coffee by brewing with twice the coffee required by your coffee maker: That should be 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per each cup of coffee. Chill before using.
2. To make drink, combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until ice is crushed and drink is smooth. Pour into two 16-ounce glasses, and serve with a straw.
For this version, add 3 tablespoons of caramel topping to the original recipe and prepare as described. Top each glass with whipped cream and drizzle additional caramel over the whipped cream.
For this version, add 3 tablespoons Hershey's chocolate syrup to the original recipe and prepare as described. Top each glass with whipped cream, if desired.
If you don't have an ice crusher blender, then just chill everything to real cold before smoothing. Or do it the night before, put it in the fridge and drink on the way to work in the morning.
Sounds yummy....Starbucks is so expensive in Canada that years ago I just decided to buy a commercial espresso machine for home....it "paid for" itself in less than 2 years of coffees and that was around 6 years ago. Now, I think my coffees are better than Starbucks...certainly cheaper.
Also good is a double espresso with skim milk and scoop of vanilla ice cream....hmmm

You got two coffees and two cakes for just over £5? Here can't even get two coffees for £5. Seriously, why do you Americans complain so much about cost? You have it SO much cheaper than England!!
not sure entirely on Freckles beliefs and why he is worried about the price of things... but for myself, and most people that i know who are worried, it comes down to inflation.. if our economy keeps going the way it is, we are in for hyper-inflation. prices keep rising, and nobody is making any more money... lets face it america has ALWAYS wanted something for nothing...
