Okay, so right now, I share a computer with my family. I have a 15 year old sister who changes settings all the time and doesn't realize she's done it until someone calls her on it. It then always turns into, "Oooohhhh, I don't know what happened. I don't know how I would have done that!"
So, here's the 1st problem...AOL.
Second (since I can't do anything about the 1st), is that the toolbar that has the spot for the URL address, has the refresh button, the home button, back button (very important), and so on is missing! I have no idea where it is. Now, mind you, AOL doesn't let you just click and drag to adjust toolbar size. I can't find a setting for toolbars anywhere. I need help! Someone lend me your knowledge because it's a pain in the butt for me and my not so technical parents. Thank you!!

To be honest, it's been so long since I've looked at AOL that I couldn't answer off the top of my head. I'll look at it tonight after work and see what I can figure out...

I have the same problem and i don't use AOL. This happened months ago. I just use the google search box. I don't know if I would go back if I could.

I'm not a fan of AOL and don't use it, but you could try right clicking on a toolbar and see what you get. The menu bar, links and status bar are all navagation helpers. See if there is a check beside them.
If there isn't a check, scroll down and left click on it.
Alternately, you could use Internet Explorer as your browser instead of the AOL browser. Just open IE and type the address you want in the address bar.

I googled your dilema and found this:
Go to the Keyword menu and type in TOOLBAR FIX. Save the file to your computer. Close AOL, if you don't the utility will not work. Double click the Toolbar Fix and run the utility. The next time you start AOL the navigation bar will be back.
Hope it works

Okay, even better...We've figured out that it is this way only for my user account. Now, when I log in, you can sometimes see that particular toolbar overlayed on the other tool bar. It's moved just to where you can't actually drag it and move it...Not that I am sure you could before anyway. So, it's stuck. Ugh. I have resorted to shortcut buttons for now but it's just a pain. Thanks for your help everyone!
