Offer to Marry her.
50 years ago people did have large families, but they also had farms and both parents. The kids were also spread out over many years so the older ones could help with the younger ones. This woman has no job and no way to support that many children. People are upset because they see her actions as irresponsible.

Great, you can offer to support them.
Now, keeping in mind that it costs approximately $250,000 to raise each child from birth to age 18 (not even including the cost of private or post-secondary education, of course), I'm sure you'll have no trouble coming up with approximately $3.5 million over the next 18 years for the sole purpose of child raising, right?
Thanks! I'm sure that the taxpayers of California really appreciate it. Otherwise, they'd be footing the bill. Which is, of course, the source of the disgruntlement. Not simply the number of children. (Of course the grandparents are a little ticked since they've had to care for the first six, but, hey, what's eight more?)

It does not cost THAT much Just add more water to the gravey and biscuts

Conservatively, the first two years will cost about $5000 per child. The survery estimates that raising a child to age 18 for a single parent will cost: $118,590. She can't nurse 8 kids and you can't water down the formula. 118,590 X 14 = 1.6 million dollars moneycentral.msn.com/articles/family/kids/tlkidscost.asp

This is the site where I got my number: www.babycenter.com/cost-of-raising-child-calculator It uses 2006 data, which is the most current I could find with a quick search. (Granted, I had plugged in data that was more applicable to me than for this woman. I instead plugged in her location and income (I'd assume since she is unemployed, it is less than $38,000 : , and the new figure is roughly $137,000/child. Good news, Freck. You only need to come up with a little under $2 million now.

This is the part that made me maddest. She is making the choice to have all these kids with no thought to the cost, the sacrifice of others, the feelings of this father or the lives of the kids. Especially in light of the fact that three of her first six children are disabled. Jeeze

It's been estimated that the hospital stay alone is going to cost the State of California around $3 million.
