A very dear friend of mine that I went to school with is having major health problems! She is 31 years old and has one kidney left that is functioning at 10%. They are starting dialysis now and she is on the waiting list for a kidney. All your prayers are needed. She has one son and she just lost her husband who was very abusive 2 weeks ago. Please pray!!!

Definitley will keep her in my prayers...
Does she have a family member that is a match for transplant or are they looking?
A dear friend of mine went through this a few years ago and actually a complete stranger gave him his kidney...now they are forever connected and celebrate holidays as a huge extended family.

Did Her Husband Die ?
If So , She could have used His Kidney
I was reading that Spouses can give Organs to each other
Because Thier Body Knows the Other Person
But 2 weeks unless He is Frozen at the Morge is Prob to late

I am an organ donor and have been tested numerous times and am on the list...
EVERYONE should be donors and get tested...
YOU never know when it could be you or someone you love!

a live donor is best, so it is good that her friemds and relatives are willing to donate. kidneys are one of the easiest organs to transplant for a number of reasons and the matching parameters are not nearly as strict as with other organs. so, basically, if there is a healthy live donor, she has a very good shot.
my mom is donating a kidney to my dad in the next month. will be thinking about your friend!

Thank you for all your prayers and thoughts. She has dropped another percent in one week, her kidney is now functioning at 9% they are inserting a port in her neck today so that they can start dialysis immediately.

She had surgery yesterday and they put in two ports for dialysis. One in her neck and one in her arm, they are starting the dialysis this morning. She came through the surgery well and we all have our hopes up that they will find a match soon.
