I co-own a t-shirt business. We are only selling locally now, but are interested in selling online. What do you all know/what are your opinions on Ebay stores and prostores? Any other suggestions? We are willing to spend money to get ourselves out there, but I think we would like to stay at 1k or less. If Your TShirts have a bar- Code You can Sell them Free at Amazon.com They do charge $1.00 plus a Commision after they sell If you pay $40.00 a month you dont pay the $1.00 If You pay the $40.00 and be a pro merchant and Your Shirt is not listed Then you can Create a Listing I am not a Pro merchant there Way pay $1000.00 ? List Free and pay the Commision when it sells

I know quite a few people that buy tshirts off of ebay and amazon on a regular basis... Two in particular are in the band scene and made up (yes) a band and sold tshirts for the band on ebay... Funny, to see those tshirts out and about in the "real" world. Especially, when they tell you how great the show was...

Right now we do bulk orders for businesses/schools/churches. We want to put our own art that we get to create and have fun with out there to sell. We have two locations so we can sell them in store now, but online just seems better. I create art now for the businesses, but that isn't as great as fun artsy stuff. Not that I am in any way comparing what you do to this company but have you ever looked at Life is Good? They are the little engine that could...took a basic idea out of the back of their car and sold the tshirt designs in college and now have stores all over and product all over... www.lifeisgood.com/

I will be frank with youl. I have been pushed, prodded , guilted into the idea of running an online business. I have more business locally than I can keep up with . Online isnt always a good plan stan.......... It can be a success but you are going to be confronting a great deal of competition. I talked to a local company about building us a site like that and they said before ecommerce fees and this that and the other I am looking at 3-5k. I understand you have to spend money to make money, but that is just tooo much.

People love to buy local products. I suggest taking samples to clothing stores in your surrounding area, talking to the manager or owners and find out if they would be interested in giving your shirts a trial run.

I am way too antisocial for that. You make it sound like you have no choice. That you have this "personality disorder" that prevents you from walking into a public place and trying to sell your product. The only way to become more succesful in life is to make changes. So get up, get out and start interacting with people. It's easier than you think. Of course, the easiest thing to do is nothing.

That would be the point of advertising and not going personally to businesses. OR going online. Why, so you can hock your wares in an already completely over-saturated market? Btw, what makes your t-shirts different, what sets them apart from the competition?
