A rabid fox was loose in the area, so three guys went looking for it.
"The officers went looking for the animal because they thought its aggressive behavior indicated it had rabies, police spokesman Doug Perry said. When they encountered the fox, it attacked one of the officers. Officers, including the one attacked, fired their weapons, killing the fox and striking the officer's right leg, Perry said."
