I've looked at several different stores. I know Target, Walmart, etc don't have the best furniture, but I don't want to spend a bunch of money on something the kids will just get dirty. Everything I have found so far is either too flimsy or has fabric seats (not good with young kids).
Any suggestions?

Can you get a cloth seat one and recover it with a shower curtain? My mom recovers her stools all the time...

do you have craigslist??? check there. you can usually find really good deals, but you have to go see them and pick them up.

I've been watching Craigslist and Freecycle and haven't found anything yet.
I'm so sick of not having a place to sit and eat. My parent's gave away my table in the move and didn't bother telling me until I found this house. Now we don't have a table, or barstools for the counter.
I know what kind of table I want, but don't have the money, nor do I want to get it until I actually own a house.

have you tried to find an actual dinning room table on craigs list? Mabe that will solve the problem.

i'm selling my oak dining table on craig's list for $120 or something like that...it has 4 chairs, actually 6 but 2 are getting crappy cause i leave it outside, it has a peice to extend to sit up to 8 people...'' very nice. please email me if interested  |

I found a set through IKEA. They are metal based with wooden seats and on $17 a piece.
Now I just need to order them as the only IKEA in the state is 2 hours away.
