They probably won't. Just be yourself. If by some miracle it looks like they are seriously considering you, then say the guilty person should go to HELL.

When you go to Jury Duty selection, wear a big freaken cross around your neck. And a I Heart Pussy baseball cap. I would pay to see that.

I haven't been called for jury duty in years. The last time the case was dropped that morning and before that I couldn't do it. I had preterm labor with my oldest boy and was on bed rest and then when I was called again a couple of months later he was in ICU. It's something I would actually like to do.

I get called every 3 years like clockwork. But have never gotten on a case. Most of the time I've had a business trip scheduled for the same time period as the trial. The one time I didn't have a trip planned, they were planning to use the same jury for the conviction if the defendent was found guilty, and if so, they were going to go for the death penalty. I don't believe in the death penalty. So I told them I would never vote to sentence anyone to death. It was pretty amusing when they called me into the room with the attorneys and the defendent, and the attorneys were interrupting each other trying to get me to explain my theoretical beliefs, and actually trying to change my mind. Because I wouldn't, after about 20 minutes of questioning (what a waste of time), they told me I was excused from the case.
I actually would like to participate as a juror one day. I figure that if I were to ever have a legal matter that was to be decided by a jury, I'd want someone like me on the panel. Plus I think it's a really cool aspect of our legal system.
However, Freckles, they generally want openminded people on juries. So I think it's safe to assume that you'll be excused.

I am a Good Person
If they did not do it or it was REALLY thier first time and want to do better
They would want me.
If they had a long list of crimes in the past and are a bad person
They would not want me

Being a self employed eye care professional, missing a day of work would cost me thousands. So I try to get out of it. I always wait until they threaten to haul me down to the courthouse before I respond. You can usually delay the process...and now I found out that you can actually pick a day rather than missing work, it's a 1 day-serve once option. Since I am off on Thursdays, I would do it if called now. I would find it interesting too.

I was picked for a trial once and the rest of the jury was REALLY unempressed with me by the time it was out. It was a case about a gay bar and the owner took the keys of someone who was too drunk to drive, then he gave him more drinks and then gave him back his keys. The guy left the bar and ran over a handicapped guy on a bycycle. The rest of the jury wanted to say that the guy was retarded and so so what that he was run over. He would never make any money anyway!!! Being the father of child in a wheel chair,I didn't let that one stand.
It was interesting to say the least. I was the one keeping them on track to follow the rules of law and be sensible about it. I enjoyed it. We deliberated 8 hours - the longest a case of that kind had ever drug on. I did it because I wanted to be sure we were fair and looked at everything.
I would do it again in a heartbeat.
