I told you Muna that the doc told me that I shouldn't run anymore unless it is for playing a typical sport. I have been going for chiro adjustments using a new technology and than the massage treatments afterwards. I cannot believe how much better I feel. I am back at exercising my normal routines and have little if no back pain. My migraines have almost disappeared. Stretching, yoga, and pilates help me also. I find that if I am in a relaxed state of mind...I feel so much better.

I was going to suggest chiropractics too (insurance usually covers this)... And making sure you are using the right meds. A good pharmacist is actually better than your doctor to talk this over with. They know how things interact and interact with your body.

Thanks you guys! The health system here sucks, and I am thinking of going into private. Mucho expensive, but what else can I do. I havent tried acupuncture yet - but many people have suggested it. I do a class which is a mix of pilates, yoga and tai chi.
So far I'm just on codeine. Has anyone got some herbal suggestions?

I was having a ton of hip issues...after xrays and such we discovered it was actually my lower back...anyway...physical therapy taught me what excersizes to do at home. Insurance covered it all.

Hahhhaa!! Saucy - if I drank I would be doing LOADS of it, trust me.
Rocko - the health system here covers my physio, etc. But its been a year of it but it hasn't been working. Not really sure what I should be doing....

I have found that walking helps me to stretch out my back and hips. I use a therapy ball to stretch out the lower back and for crunches. For me at least when I work the "core muscles" my back and hip don't bother me near as much.
Pilates and yoga also are a big help.

Kind of sick of my life being controlled by this.... Acupuncture does work...I never used to believe in it but it does. Drink lots of water when you go and avoid alcohol before and after. When I can't go for acupuncture I take Ibuprofen 800 mg at a time (double what is says on the bottle) and you can take these with codeine at the same time.....I sometimes "bump up" the codeine's effect with wine..... hahaha but not sure I would recommend that for you unless you know how your body responds....I think I've developed a fair tolerance so for me it's okay. I also have percocet (oxycotin) but I try not to take it very much as I don't want to end up in rehab plus good luck trying to formulate a clear thought if you take that. I am also sick of my life being controlled by pain....but in my case, I am hoping to get my life back soon, through surgery....although I've been told they can't make any promises of pain relief.....I am hopeful....I don't have much choice, really. I find the best thing is to find something really interesting to think about (almost obsessively) and try to go "mind over matter" as much as you can....(I know that's not very helpful) You should switch phsiotherapists (if you have coverage for physio) and find one that does acupuncture. I say this because usually acupuncture is not covered but physio is....so don't get them to itemize the receipt....just submit it as physio.
