We said good bye
I saw her run
I started the walk home
Thinking about the night ahead
I unlocked the door
Got ready and changed
When all of a sudden
My phone rang
I thought it was her
Just running late
But I was wrong
It was her dad
I couldn’t understand
When the phone changed hands
The doctor told me straight out
I broke down in the hallway
Wondering why
I grabbed my shoes and began to cry
I ran to the hospital
Never looking back
The white sheets were stained
Her blonde hair hair was matted and tangled
I ran to her side
Hugging her and crying
I washed her face and her hair
Her eyes seemed to stare
I was sedated and pulled away
Because I understood what I had to do
I went home
I grabbed my shoes
I ran to the hospital
I found the doctor who had told me
I asked him to tell me
Every little detail about the crash
He said that day
They didn't find her right away
The doctor realized what I planned
And obliged
I ran to his parents’ house with a book
I had made
It was fall of happy times
Of me and her
I ran to the highway not knowing if I could
I saw the truck coming and made my move
I woke to find everything white
I saw her face and asked if I was in heaven
She shook her head sadly and said goodbye
We hugged for the finally time
She wiped my eyes and told me to smile
I looked at her sadly and shook my head
She raised my chin and kissed my lips
I woke to find I was in hospital icu
A breathing tube white and blue
I raised myself up and told them I was fine
I fell back onto the pillows
And started to cry
I cried for my friend
I cried for my companion
I cried for my lover
I cried for our memories
But finally I cried for what we had lost
And for what we still had...
Come back to me, come back soon...
I saw her run
