I never had a history of stomach problems but now I get heartburn all the friggen time. A slug of milk usually curbs that fast.
Ice water is Better
Milk makes Acid after you drink it
It does make you feel better, then it makes more Acid
I have had Ulcers
Ice Water
is better

Lady J ~ You know I am one of your biggest fans. When I have had struggles with the frustration of my short-term memory problem, you were the first to be supportive and even have some experience with people you loved that had been through it. I don't know what kind of specialists you've been to, but I was told the brain will re-wire what it can within 12 to 18 mos. I'm on 10 yrs and still praying for a miracle. ;D Personally, I find your courage to share and expose yourself so honestly so refreshing and utterly brave. You are awesome! I didn't read all of the negative crap about you, just the updates your son gave us on your condition I also took a break for a while for my custody battle and a problem with my laptop, but even though I know for a fact my accident (3 to be exact) were on the news, trying to find them on the Internet is literally exhausting. Friends and family saw it, but it's not been easy to find after the fact now that I can actually care. I say this for those that doubt the validity of your accident just because it is not in the paper. My first accident ran over and over on the news because it was during all of the freeway construction preparing for the 2002 Olympics and the semi had a bumper sticker that said, 'I swerve and hit people at random'. Helllooo? Keep being you because we love who you are. Crushy

I hope people back the fuck off now that youve come forward and that they will stop spreading lies about you. It was heartbreaking and infuriating. It was brave of you to come here after all of that bashing and tell your story without sugar coating it. Im proud of you J. Good on you.....even if you did make a big mistake. Who hasnt? Im just glad youre still alive and kicking sugar. Smoochers

Thanks C and J I guess you could see it as some time of "bottom" I can only go up now. Girl, I don't know if that comment about being at bottom is accurate. You've been through more, conquered more and succeeded at more than most of us will in a lifetime. You are one of the strongest, wittiest, most honest women I know. I marvel at your strength, love, devotion and pride in your son, even your efforts to get that darned crock-pot to work. People can judge all they want, but they have NO right to do so. They have not been in your shoes, they don't know what you've been through, they don't know how awesome you are (with the exception of your son). I am so proud of you for coming back with a vengence... not letting anyone bully you out of the family here that loves and supports you. As you know, I know the frustrations of the short-term memory thing first hand. PM me any time. When I first began to recover from my accident, I would put lipstick on before I brushed my teeth. It takes time for the brain to adjust and re-wire. I haven't checked into brain re-mapping because it was just too cutting edge at the time of my accident, but maybe something to look into. Even if you have some residual effects of your head injury, you will find a way to compensate for it. The show Momento scared the hell out of me and took probably 10 tries to finally get all the way through it, but I learned sooooooo much from that movie. You just need a 'system'. I used to believe my personality was the worst for this type of injury, but after watching that show, realized, rather than get upset I didn't remember, ask myself...'What would I do?' It works! My sons can ask me, 'What did you do with my pocketknife'? Of course, I don't remember, but now I ask, 'What would I do with his pocketknife' and I can tell him to check the kitchen desk, right hand drawer...sure enough....it's there. You still have time to heal. Be kind to yourself. You have been through a lot. You have more guts that anyone I know. PM me if you ever need me. Thanks again for being so good to me when I needed you, Jac. Crushy

Hey Crushy, we all have our stories. Some are cushier than others. One of my friends has sailed through life. She has this amazing family, lots of brothers and sisteres, was born with looks that kill, people flock to her cause of her amazing personality.
So you would think she wouldn't understand hardships. That she would come up short on compassion. Quite the opposite.
I don't have near the issues you have with memory. It is just a minor nuisance at best. Though J had said something different to me before LOL.
For me , the worst is not being able to multitask as well as I use to. I use to have ten plus windows opened on my computer, be on on the phone and stir frying something yummy at the same time LOL
I don't know why you love my crockpot story so much
too funny LOL
PS, I did throw the POS out!

Good to hear your challenges regarding memory are not what I've experienced. I have days I'm on top of everything and then days that when I go from one window to another, I forget why I switched to the other window.
Yes, we all have our problems. I thank God yours is not as severe as I misunderstood it to be.

Do you find it is worse when you are overtired? I had a day last week where everything just came crashing in. I was not functioning well at all. I ended up in a pool of tears and slept for hours and hours. Good to hear your challenges regarding memory are not what I've experienced. I have days I'm on top of everything and then days that when I go from one window to another, I forget why I switched to the other window. Yes, we all have our problems. Oh, absolutely. Being over-tired, sick, stressed , not eaten, or in pain can dramatically affect my memory.
It takes time and honest, supportive family or friends to tell you when you are 'off'. My fiance will tell me he thinks I sound like I'm headed for a 'spell'. That's when he suggests I eat and rest. He's always right and regretted when I didn't heed his advice.
You can be on top of your game most of the time, but you throw in a combination of not feeling well, not eating wel, stress and everything changes. It takes time. I'm glad you're doing as well as you are....

I know that I don't have the memory issues as you guys do....but I find when I am stressed and overtired, I am having a bad day as well
