England is a Small Place
In Texas I have to Drive 45 or 50 Miles to Work and 45 or 50 miles back 3 times a Week
Or about 300 to 400 miles every week

Work closer? Or take a train. People here don't drive so much, but there are people that live in Leicester and work in London (eg, my sister's boss.) He takes the train down. That's almost over a hundred miles every day. It can be done.
Also, we don't use those huge trucks that are so popular in America. Gas guzzlers!!

That's the problem here, Phoenixx. We've let our public transportation and rail systems degrade over the past 50 years in favor of personal transportation. Passenger rail in the U.S. is almost dead.
It's WAAAAAAAAAY past time that we weaned ourselves off of the fossil fuel tit and found energy independence.

The only Passenger Rail is Amtrack somewhere at the Top of the country
And the Subways in New York
Thats it, as far as I know

thank goodness i take the train to work (commuter rail -- not amtrak). and i can walk to and from the train station, as well as the gym, stores, local restaurants, etc. unless i'm doing something out of the ordinary, i can make a tank of gas last at least 2 weeks, usually more like 3.
so glad i don't live out in the boondocks. ;D
(i laugh at the gas guzzlers too, phoenixx. it makes me laugh especially when someone is pregnant with their first child it seems like their first priority is rushing out to buy the biggest van or suv they can find, "for the baby".)

Seriously, a country as 'developed' as America, the Number One First World country, does not have inter-country trains? Thats pretty freaking awful, isn't it?

It used too
During the Old West
They had Passenger Cars
They quit doing that as Highways and Roads were built
Until there is noting left of them

We let our passenger rail system fall to pieces while we drove ourselves into this crisis over the past 60 years. We Yanks aren't that well known for being collectively prescient, you know?

Every Town has a Water Treatment plant (Sewer Plant)
All they do is use that water on some field in each town
They could make Methane Gas and use that to Turn a Electric Turbine to Provide Electric Power
All that Waste could be used for Power and they Dump it
