Cash has alpha male issues.... even with Saucy. He bites her a lot... but it usually starts out as playing and she enjoys the play time so she doesn't want to ruin it by scolding him. He is so cute... but I can tell that he really hurts her. She has shown up at my house with bruises. If this is the case, Saucy, it explains somewhat where the behavior comes from (he thinks it's acceptable), but also gives you the perfect opportunity to correct it now. It'll only get more difficult to correct as he gets older (and his bites get harder.) I forgot to say that she does grab his arm after to bite him back and he pulls away. She tells him in a stern voice "no" and then he stops.

Well I would say that a few spankings may be in order. I didn't hesitate to spank my son when he would knowingly be doing something wrong. All in all I don't think I spanked him more than 10 times in his life.... and now at age 16 he is a better kid than I deserve. exactally... it is about picking your battles and sticking to them... not beating your kids every day for every little thing.

Stop it.... I LOVE that kid! However, I will shoot you in the ass with a tranq dart I loved my dog. Sometimes love has to hurt to be effective. If you shoot me in the ass, I am going to shoot you in the ass. Just say'en.

he's kind of too young for time out, but if you immediately stop playing with him for a while when he starts with the biting stuff he'll get the message that biting = playtime with mommy is OVER.

gasp.... giggle giggle... LMAO Murdock, you can giggle now, and even laugh..BUT when I am shooting, it's a very serious matter. You must look up at me..or turn your head back towards me, whichever the case may be...do not smile...it breaks the mood. You got that?

My parenting style is to try different things until something works and don't just let it slid.
Alec (now 5) bit me ONE TIME...I bit him back and that was that.
Kyle (now 4) bit me...I bit him back...he bit me harder...I tried spanking and time out. The one day he came up behind me and bit my shoulder so hard that I snatched away and smacked his mouth. Total reflex, but his little teeth haven't touched me since. I felt bad, but was THRILLED to not have to deal with anyone. It took about a 3-4 weeks to work this out.
I dont' remember how old cash is, but I used timeout for 12months and up when I worked daycare. I dont' mean put their nose in a circle, but you can remove them from the area they are in. Like if he is playing with legos and he throws one at you. You can take and set him with his back on the wall. Then you can play with the legos and make it look really fun. So he knows he is missing out on something.
Timeout is ONE MINUTE for every year of their life. So a one year old does ONE minute. No more, no less. I restart the time if they get up. I had one girl I had to stand beside in time out bc she would chase me down and hit me otherwise.

That baby is so darn cute I just want to CUDDLE him!
As for biting, it IS a normal thing some kids go through. Any good childcare worker should be aware of that and be able to deal with it themselves (rather than calling you for every little behavioral issue). You need to work on it at home, too, but they should be able to take care of it themselves.
